How We Use 3D Imaging

If you come to us with a toothache, it’s likely that one of the first steps we’ll take to diagnose the issue is to capture a scan of your facial anatomy using our cone beam CT imaging device. This process is simple, fast, and an incredibly important part of delivering effective and efficient treatment.
All you’ll do is place your chin on a comfortable rest and wait about 20 seconds for the imaging system to rotate around your head. When it does this, the scanner will capture thousands of images that it will then use to build a 3D model of your entire facial structure, allowing our endodontists in Deerfield to view important features of your mouth, including the roots of your teeth, location of facial nerves, and your sinuses.
Based on this advanced and highly detailed scan, Dr. Trinh and Dr. Mehta will be able to thoroughly plan your treatment to make sure the infection is completely removed and minimize any risk of complications.
